PURPOSE: To obtain a sophisticated man-machine interface as a composite terminal by providing an interface circuit for a handset and an exchange to an information processor to control a central processing unit.
CONSTITUTION: When a telephone call is made at a composite terminal TEm1, a handset H is connected to a handset via a converting circuit A/D, a multiplex/ separating circuit MPX/DMP, a transceiver T/R, a line L1, a transceiver T/R1 of an exchange network center NC, a communication bus SP, a transceiver T/Rn, and a line Ln and further via the similar path as that of a calling terminal TE#1 in a called terminal TE#n. A data signal is transmitted to other terminal via the multiplex/separation circuit MPX/DMP, the transceiver T/R and the line L1 and via the exchange network center NC, and the interface to the exchange in an expanding section EI is given so as to attain data communication between input and output devices of each terminal.
