Abstract:

PURPOSE: To disperse uniformly, into a combustion chamber injection which is vaporized sufficiently in an inter-cylinder injection type internal combustion engine.

CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection valve 11 is arranged on the inner wall surface of a cylinder head provided in the vicinity of an intake valve 6a. When an engine is operated in a low load condition, fuel is injected from the fuel injection valve 11 during compression stroke. When the engine is operated in a high load condition, fuel is injected from the fuel injection valve 11 during intake stroke. At this time, fuel is injected from the fuel injection valve 11 toward the umbrella back surface of the opened intake valve 6a, and also fuel is injected from the fuel injection valve 11 at a flow speed by which most of injected fuel colliding with the umbrella back surface of the intake valve 6a is reflected inside an intake port 7a.
