Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new intercalation metal clathrate compound capable of selectively adsorbing fatty acids causing body smells, etc., and useful for make-up cosmetics and antiperspirant cosmetics.
SOLUTION: This intercalate metal clathrate compound is obtained by allowing a clay mineral to include aluminum, zirconium, their oxides and/or their hydroxides, and one or more kinds of zinc, iron, magnesium, manganese, nickel, titanium, chromium and bismuth, their oxides and/or their hydroxides among the layers of the clay mineral. The clathrate compound is obtained by gradually adding NaOH to an aqueous solution of aluminum nitrate and/or zirconium nitrate to form the multi-nuclear hydroxide polycations of Al and/or Zr, adding the clay mineral to the polycation solution to intercalate the cation among the layers of the clay mineral, further adding the aqueous solution of one or more other metal nitrates, dropwisely neutralizing the mixture with NaOH, further intercalating one or more kinds of the hydroxides of metals selected from Zn, Mg, Mn, Ni, Cr and Bi among the layers, and subsequently lyophilizing the intercalation product.
