To realize an interface device for enabling a host device to access a plurality of devices through one serial interface.
The interface device 111 notifies the host device 10 through a serial bus 1 of the total storage capacity obtained by adding the storage capacity of a hard disk drive 11 to a storage capacity notified from a hard disk drive 12 through a serial bus 2. The interface device 111 prepares address map information showing an address range to be assigned to the hard disk drive 11 on the basis of the total storage capacity and the storage capacity of the hard disk drive 11. The interface device 111 issues an access command to a data storage part 112 or the hard disk drive 12 in accordance with whether or not an address value designated by the access command from the host device 10 is belonged to the hard disk drive 11.
