PURPOSE: To enable the mechanical sepn. of the donative element and receptive element of an integral photographic element by lessening the intervention of an operator with an interlayer peeling device for photographic materials.

CONSTITUTION: An image forming material 30 including the donative element 32 and the receptive element 34 is prepd. The image forming material 30 is heated and the force countering the donative element 32 and the receptive element 34 are applied thereto, by which the image forming material 30 is separated to the donative element 32 and the receptive element 34. The separated donative element 32 is accumulated. The interlayer peeling device for the image forming material 30 includes means for imparting the heat and pressure to the image forming material 30, means for impressing separating power on at least one of the donative element 32 and the receptive element 34 forming the image forming material and means for separating the donative element 32 and the receptive element 34.
