PURPOSE: To provide a transmission for improving locating accuracy and lessening the number of parts with a simple construction by constituting an interlocking cam to be guided only in the selecting direction by a lock plate fixed to a transmission case.

CONSTITUTION: A shift selecting lever 15 is supported slantingly through a seat member 14 constituting a spherical surface seat by an opening hole 13 in a lid 12 attached to an opening in the upper part of a transmission case 8 and slanted in the two perpendicular directions by connecting one ends of a shift cable and selecting cable respectively to two pins 17a, 17b located in a joint 17 provided on the upper end of the selecting lever 15 in the directions perpendicular to each other. The selecting lever 15 has the lower part sliding along a rectangular guide hole 30 formed in a lock plate 20 and inserted through an insert hole in an interlocking cam 21 regulated with respect to the slide only in the selected direction by a restrict pin 23.
