Abstract:

To provide a useful compound other than phthalocyanine, synthesized from a dithiophthalodinitrile and a salt.

The intermediate for phthalocyanine is obtained by reacting a dithiophthalodinitrile represented by formula (I) with cupric chloride or copper sulfate in the presence of a dihydric alcohol at 150-250°C (wherein, R is a 1-30C alkyl or aryl).
