Abstract:

To provide an internal combustion engine control device reducing vibration in an early stage of cranking while maintaining good restarting properties of an engine.

A crankshaft is controlled in a range where intake valves of all cylinders are put in close valve states and intake valves are controlled to the minimum operation angles D1 during engine stop period in steps 1-6. When the engine is under restart conditions in step 7, large operation angles D3 of the intake valves are set to start target operation angle values in step 12 if it is determined that engine temperature T is higher than first temperature T1 and second temperature T2 in step 9, 11. After that, operation angles of the intake valves are changed over to the start target operation angle values Dt in step 14. Then, cranking is started in step 15, and complete explosion control such as fuel injection and ignition is executed in step 17 after confirmation that the operation angles became the target operation angle values Dt in step 16.
