To provide an internal combustion engine starting device capable of achieving a sufficient field flux without enlarging an electric motor for starting an internal combustion engine even when the electric motor for starting the internal combustion engine is operated and voltage of a storage battery is lowered.
This device is provided with the electric motor 1 for starting the internal combustion engine equipped with a field 12 having a wound field coil and an armature 11 having a wound armature coil and capable of transmitting torque to the internal combustion engine, a first storage battery 2 connected so as to supply armature current to the armature coil, and a second storage battery 3 connected so as to supply excitation current to the field coil. That is, the first storage battery 2 and the second storage battery 3 are independently connected to the armature coil and the field coil respectively. Thereby, the voltage of the second storage battery 3 is not lowered even when the voltage of the first storage battery 2 is lowered, and the sufficient field flux can be achieved.
