Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a starting characteristic of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A method for starting an internal combustion engine 1 is a step for providing an internal combustion engine having at least one cylinder 2 and a piston 3 supported within the cylinder 2 at a position of a crank shaft 5 to perform a repetitive reciprocating motion so as to define a main combustion chamber 21, and includes: a step in which the internal combustion engine 1 is arranged in the cylinder 2, further having an igniter device 4 including an igniter portion 42 and a fuel injector 43, both the igniter portion 42 and the fuel injector 43 are arranged at a pre-combustion chamber 41 which has a plurality of orifices 44 so as to provide a fluid communication between the pre-combustion chamber 41 and the main combustion chamber 21; a step for pouring fuel into the pre-combustion chamber 41; and a step for igniting the fuel poured into the pre-combustion chamber 41 to pre-heat the pre-combustion chamber 41 before pouring the fuel into the main combustion chamber 21 to ignite the fuel poured into the main combustion chamber 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
