Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new internal combustion engine driven by heavy fuel oil.SOLUTION: The supply air can be supplied to an ammonia generation device (24) through a bypass conduit (27) branched from an air supply conduit (23), and an urea solution can be introduced to the supply air branched through the bypass conduit (27), through a nozzle (25) of the ammonia generation device (24). The urea solution is decomposed into water vapor, carbon dioxide and ammonia, in the supply air introduced through the bypass conduit (27), in a hydrolysis catalyst-type exhaust gas cleaning device (26), which is disposed behind the nozzle (25), of the ammonia generation device (24). The bypass conduit (27) joins an exhaust gas conduit (22) at an upstream side of an SCR catalyst-type exhaust gas cleaning device (21) when observed in the flowing direction of the exhaust gas, and the supply air guided to pass through the ammonia generation device (24) is mixed with the exhaust gas at the upstream side of the SCR catalyst-type exhaust gas cleaning device (21) in the flowing direction.
