Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine which can be driven with a smaller amount of hydrogen than a conventional engine and increase a hydrogen concentration in a combustion chamber without requiring a large amount of water to curb generation of NOX and posing a risk of a large explosion causing damage to the engine and to provide a method for supply fuel to the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine comprises: a mixer which is arranged at an upstream side of a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine and mixes hydrogen with air; and water supply means which supplies water to the mixer. In the internal combustion engine, an air-fuel mixture and water discharged from the mixer are supplied to the combustion chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
