Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an oil scraped up by a chain of a chain transmission mechanism in an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 has an internal combustion engine body 2 storing an oil at a lower portion, a first sprocket 20 disposed above an oil level S of the oil, a second sprocket 25 at least partially immersed in the oil, a chain 26 hung between the first sprocket and the second sprocket, and a chain guide 30 slidably kept into contact with a downstream-side part 26B of the second sprocket, of the chain. The chain guide integrally includes a guide portion 34 slid and kept into contact with an outer peripheral portion of the chain, an extension portion 35 extended to an inner peripheral side of the chain at a side part of the chain from the guide portion, and an oil dropping portion 36 disposed on the extension portion, and positioned to be opposed to an inner peripheral portion of the chain at the inner peripheral side of the chain above the oil level.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
