Abstract:
To enhance vaporization of fuel, in a port injection type internal combustion engine, by reducing an amount of fuel injected through an injector to be attached thereto in liquid form.SOLUTION: In a port injection type internal combustion engine where fuel is injected through an injector 11 toward an intake port in a cylinder 1, a plasma actuator 10 is installed at a location where, on an inner wall face of an intake passage 3 or the intake port, the fuel injected through the injector 11 can be attached thereto in liquid form. The plasma actuator 10 generates a strong flow 40 of intake air at the location where the fuel can be attached thereto in synchronization with fuel injection through the injector 11 so as to prevent the fuel from attaching to the location and allow the fuel to be mixed well with the intake air and thereby enhancing vaporization of the fuel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
