Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict adhesion and accumulation of deposit around a base end part of a heater rod for transmitting a load to a pressure receiving part of a cylinder inner pressure sensor.SOLUTION: A CPS 18 is a glow-plug integrated cylinder inner pressure sensor and installed at a glow hole 26. A dimple 20 is communicated with both a combustion chamber 22 and a glow hole 26. An outer shape line OL of the dimple 20 is dimpled inside a cylinder head 10 and is expressed as an arcuate curved line passing through points A, B, and C. The outer shape line OL passes the points A, B to enable intrusion of combustion gas into a glow hole 26 to be restricted and it is possible to restrict adhesion and deposition of the deposit between a small-diameter part 26b and a heater rod 18c. In addition, the outer shape line OL passing through the point C enables the heater rod 18c at the extremity end rather than the point C to be exposed to the dimple 20 and further enables the deposit adhered and accumulated at the surface of the exposed portion to be heated at the time of glow electrical energization and removed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
