Abstract:
Provided is an internal combustion engine capable of facilitating generation of a tumble flow of suctioned air, and of improving productivity. A combustion chamber and an air-suction port 21a leading to the combustion chamber are formed in a cylinder head. An opening, to the combustion chamber 30, of the air-suction port 21a is opened/closed by an air-suction valve penetrating the air-suction port 21a. A partition wall 21h for generating a tumble flow in the combustion chamber is provided in the air-suction port 21a so that suctioned air flowing in the air-suction port 21a is separated by the partition wall 21h and led into an upper suctioned-air path 35 and a lower suctioned-air path 36 that are partitioned off vertically from each other. The lower suctioned-air path 36 is formed such that the width WL thereof gradually becomes wider from the upstream side of the air-suction port 21a toward the combustion chamber.
