Abstract:
To provide an internal combustion engine capable of improving combustion stability by reducing an engine oil content in blow-by gas flowing into an oil mist separator.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine, a blow-by gas inlet section of an oil mist separator which circulates the blow-by gas to an intake passage is communicated with a downstream side of a blow-by gas passage. A shielding member which can be rotated along with a crank shaft with the same faced opposite to the blow-by gas inlet section is installed at the downstream side of the blow-by gas passage. The shielding member has an opening section which penetrates the same in a direction of a rotary axis and opens at least partially the blow-by gas inlet section in synchronization with strokes of respective cylinders when pressure of the blow-by gas is not high. The shielding member is configured to place a shielding section covering the blow-by gas inlet section outside the opening section in a circumferential direction in synchronization with the strokes of respective cylinders when the pressure of the blow-by gas is high.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
