To provide an internal heat exchange type distillation column, wherein the outer peripheral surface of a tube and a shelf plate can be surely sealed without the need of a manufacture process taking time and labor for a complicated structure, desired characteristics can be realized and the outside of the tube (shell side) serves as a shelf stage column, and to provide its assembly method.
In a state in which a plurality of shelf plates 20 comprising: a through-hole 120 whose diameter D1 is larger than a tube 25; a flow path for gas/liquid contact for making steam and liquid pass through and bringing gas and the liquid into contact; and a thin planar sealing member 40 provided with a sealing through-hole 42 whose diameter is the same as the outer diameter of the tube or smaller than the outer diameter of the tube in the range within 20mm and a plurality of cuts 29 radially formed from the inner peripheral end side of the sealing through-hole, are arranged inside a main body drum 1, the tube 25 is passed through the through-hole of the shelf plate and the sealing through-hole of the thin planar sealing member, the inner peripheral part of the sealing through-hole is abutted on the outer peripheral surface of the tube, for sealing between the tube and the through-hole of the shelf plate.
