Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a brake shoe allowing the interchangeability of shoes in a single internal shoe drum brake, and a brake incorporated with a plurality of such shoes.
CONSTITUTION: A brake shoe for an internal shoe drum brake comprises an arcuate platform for supporting a lining comprising friction material on an outer surface of it. A web is perpendicularly extended from an inner surface of the platform, and it is provided with a shoe tip composed to be supported on angled surfaces 7A, 7B of a brake abutment 7. This shoe tip has a pair of differently directed surface parts T1, T2. This invention also includes an internal shoe drum brake incorporating a pair of the shoes 2, 3 of which abutment shoes are arranged so that the abutment 7 is respectively engaged by non-corresponding ones of the shoes tip surface parts T1, T2.
