PURPOSE: To indicate clearly from which station a call is requested by writing a prescribed caller name to a memory corresponding to its station number, detecting the station number from the information of a channel selection line and reading and displaying the caller name from the memory.
CONSTITUTION: When channel selection control information is transmitted to a line L3, an incoming buffer (d) receives it and transmits the information to a control section (a). When the control section (a) decides that the own station is called, the control section activates a call tone oscillator (f), transmits a call tone to a talking section (g) and also a ring back tone to the caller via a channel switch (e) and lines L1, L2. Moreover, the control section (a) identifies the station number of the caller station from the channel selection control information and transmits the result to a data converting section (h). The converting section (h) reads the caller name corresponding to the station number from an ROMi in which the caller names are registered in advance, converts it into a display code and displays the result to a display device (j). When a called station responds, the control section (a) stops the oscillator (f) and erases the character display of the display section (j) via the converting section (h).
