Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a good sight during an implant surgery of intraocular lens, and to accurately position the lens into a subject's eye by providing a luminous means for emitting a light when exposing the luminous means under a selected light source with a holding means for holding the lens in the patient's eye. CONSTITUTION: An intraocular lens 10 is made of a transparent lens 14 and a holding loop 16 projected outward for flexibly holding and centering the lens 14 into the eye. The lens 10 is implanted into the eye after a natural crystal body is surgically removed. The holding loop 16 is made of a selected fluorescent material such as fluorescein combined with an acrylic textile and the like, this fluorescent material can emit when exposed under a light having a comparatively weak energy such as ultraviolet radiation. Therefore, the holding loop is well seeable during the '-plant surgery, and it assists to accurately seat the intraocular lens 10 into the eye by a surgeon. Further, it facilitate a diagnosis for the sense of sight after the surgical operation.
