Title:
INTRODUCTION OF AMINO-PROTECTING GROUP BY MICROORGANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5515445
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To introduce protection groups selectively to the NH2 groups at the 3- position or the 3- and 2- positions of an antibacterial agent, xylopyranose, by treating the xylopyranose with specific bacteria belonging to Streptomyces genus, in the presence of saccharides or pyruvic acid, and a nucleotide.

CONSTITUTION: 3-Position or 3- and 2-position NH2 groups of 2,3-diamino-2,3- dideoxy-4-0-methyl-α-D-xylopyranose are protected with amino-protecting groups of formula I or II, by treating the pyranose derivative with specific bacteria balonging to Streptomyces genus, pref. e.g. Streptomyces hofuensis MK-88 (FERM-P No.2216, ATCC 21970), in an aqueous medium in the presence of a saccharide such as glucose, or pyruvic acid and a nucleotide such as UTP, at 20W40°C for 1W24 hours.

USE: Intermediate of xylopyranose derivatives.
