PURPOSE: To provide an inventory management system which is dynamically changed in both ordering point and order quantity.
CONSTITUTION: This system is equipped with a step wherein delivery quantities by components in a component storage means are calculated, a step wherein mean demanded quantities by the components are calculated on the basis of the delivery quantities by the components, a step wherein the demanded quantity in a lead time period is calculated on the basis of the mean demanded quantities by the components, a step wherein the ordering point is calculated from the calculated demanded quantity in the lead time period, a step wherein it is decided whether or not the volume of inventories decreases below the calculated ordering point, a step wherein the total demanded quantities by the components are predicted on the basis of the calculated mean demanded quantities by the components, a step wherein order quantities are calculated from the predicted total demanded quantities by the components, and a step wherein order indication information is generated on the basis of the calculated ordering point and calculated order quantities once it is decided that the volume of inventories decreases below the order point.
