Title:
INVERSE MULTIPLEXER CONTROL SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002033717
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an inverse multiplex process control system for an optical back plane unit that can adjust timing without the need for measurement at a high bandwidth.

A modulator 102 extracts a selected multiplexed compression data packet 120 from a multiplexed stream of the compression packet and a decompressor 104 decompresses the stream. A control signal 112 controls the modulator 102. The timing error of a modulator control signal copes with characteristic distortion in a decompression signal 116. Monitoring the effect of the timing error with respect to the decompression signal can control a delay in either of optical and electrical parts of a switching device to correct the timing error. Thus, the timing of the modulator control signal 112 can be adjusted continuously to minimize the timing error. A calibration pulse stream with a known value and a proper shape may be inserted to the decompression signal 116, in place of monitoring only the decompression signal 116.
