Abstract:
To provide an inverter that can operate with low loss even if a large current is caused to flow.
This inverter 200 for controlling a polyphase AC motor includes a switching element (FET220) that controls a motor 100 by a pulse driving system. The switching element is made of SiC. Specifically, the number of magnetic poles of a controlled motor is desired to be eight or larger. The SiC element generating loss less than an Si element makes it possible to drive the motor with a larger current than the case using the Si element.
