Abstract:
To provide a hydrocarbon-based ion-exchange membrane which is excellent in the fuel permeation inhibitory effect.
The exchange membrane is an aromatic hydrocarbon-based ion-exchange membrane comprising an ionic group-containing polymer, and has the number of pores per cross sectional area of the membrane in the range of 0-5,000 /cm2, wherein the water-soluble inorganic salt by-produced in the polymerization process for the ionic group-containing polymer has been extracted and removed off until 0-0.1% by weight relative to the polymer by washing with water after the polymerization of the polymer.
