Abstract:
To reduce the cost of an ion transport device usable in a drift region of an ion mobility analyzer.SOLUTION: Used as spacers 42A alternately arranged with electrodes 41 having a flat annular shape along an axis C are annular members having an insulating film which is formed by a hard alumite treatment on a surface of a base material made of aluminum. Each of the spacers 42A is sandwiched between two electrodes 41. The insulating film is not formed on one of two surfaces of the spacer which comes into contact with one of the electrodes. In this manner, the base material of the spacer 42A and the electrode 41 are electrically connected to each other. Electrical insulation between adjacent electrodes 41 in the axial direction is also ensured. Further, the potential of the base material of the spacer 42A is determined by the voltage applied to each electrode 41. The plurality of spacers 42A work as shield electrodes. The influence of external electric fields on the internal electric field of a drift portion 4 can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
