To provide an ionomer resin composition having improved mechanical strength without deteriorating transparency, while ensuring extrusion property, because the additive amounts of organized clay and a metal salt for increasing the degree of neutralization are confined to proper ranges, and a coaxial wire using the ionomer resin composition for a coating layer.
The ionomer resin composition contains 1-85 parts by mass of the organized clay based on 100 parts by mass of an ionomer resin produced by melting and mixing the metal salt for neutralization and a quaternary ammonium salt type surfactant in an olefin-α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer or an ionomer having a degree of neutralization of <60%. The coaxial wire comprises an inner conductor, an inner insulating layer coating the inner conductor, an outer conductor located outside the inner insulating layer, and an outer insulating layer coating the outer conductor, wherein at least one of the inner insulating layer and the outer insulating layer is composed of the ionomer resin composition.
