PURPOSE: To prevent a printed board from being thermally ill influenced by a base, miniaturize the whole iron, and improve using convenience, by setting a temperature displaying means for displaying a temperature set by a temperature setting means, and by mounting the temperature setting means, a heater controlling means, and the temperature displaying means, on the printed board contained in the cavity of a handle gripping section.
CONSTITUTION: On a printed board 19 for mounting a temperature setting means 14, a temperature displaying means 15, and a heater controlling means 18, and set along the full length roughly into the cavity 20 of the grip section of a handle 13, the heater controlling means 18 is set on the connecting section side with a power cord 21. In case of ironing, by the temperature setting means 14, an arbitrary temperature is set, for example, the temperature is set to be 'high', and then electrification to a heater 12 is started, and the temperature of a base 11 starts rising. After that, by a temperature-sensitive sensor 16,, the temperature of the base 11 is detected, and in the range of the 'high' temperature set by said temperature setting means 14, the temperature of the base 11 is retained, and so by the heater controlling means 18, the electrification to the heater 12 is controlled. As a result, the rear section of an iron enlarged due to the mechanism of thermal insulation can be extremely miniaturized.
