PURPOSE: To ensure a satisfactory finish by attaching a valve mechanism for permitting or inhibiting the discharge of steam from a steam storing chamber on a blower chamber formed separately from the steam storing chamber, and spraying hot air together with steam from a blowing hole, or injecting only steam or only hot air.

CONSTITUTION: An iron, which is a hand iron having a handle 10 mounted on the upper part, has a plurality of blowing holes 5 on a bottom plate part 11. A blower chamber 12 is set on the bottom plate part 11, and a steam storing chamber 13 is formed on the upper part of the blower chamber 12 so as to enclose the blower chamber 12. Steam 16 is supplied from a steam supplying source 14 to the steam storing chamber 13 through a pipeline 15. An opening and closing valve 17 attached on the upper part of the blower chamber 12 stops the flow of the steam 16 or adjusts the steam quantity into the blower chamber 12. When the opening and closing valve 17 is opened by an arm member 18, the steam 16 supplied from the steam supplying source 14 is carried into the blower chamber 12, and blown out to an ironing surface through the blowing holes 5 in the bottom plate part 11.
