PURPOSE: To widely use all the face of an operating base and to make it compact during storage and to improve usefulness by forming a stand so as to freely protruding and retreating below an operating base and making a space between the one side face of the operating base and the stand variable.
CONSTITUTION: An arm 12 slidingly attached to a lower face side of an operating base 4 is provided in the vicinity of both ends near to the width of the operating base 4. A stand 16 attached to the arm 12 has an arbitrary space from the operating base 4 which can be variably formed. During use, when the stand 16 is externally pulled from the lower portion of the operating base 14, the fitting position of a receiving portion 14 and an engaging portion moves against the energizing force of the engaging portion 15 and the stand 16 can be set and fixed at a prescribed position. Accordingly, a space between the stand 16 and the operating base 4 can be arbitrarily adjusted in accordance with the size of clothes to be ironed. Thus, an operation can be efficiently and safely carried out with usefulness and the stand can be housed with compactness below the operating base 4.
