To provide an irradiation device which does not cause discharge between adjacent flush lamps even when the interval between the flush lamps is narrow, and also to provide an image forming apparatus provided with the irradiation device.
The irradiation device is provided with a plurality of flush lamps 14 which comprise: lamp pipes 12; trigger wires 18 disposed along the longitudinal direction of the lamp pipes 12; and a plurality of trigger wire holding bands 19 which are disposed along the outer circumferences of the lamp pipes 12 and hold the trigger wires 19 along the lamp pipes 12. The flush lamps 14 are arranged such that the trigger wire holding bands 19 on the adjacent flush lamps 14 come to positions different from one another along the longitudinal direction of the lamp pipes 12. The image forming apparatus provided with the irradiation device is also provided.
