PURPOSE: To improve the operability by registering a guidance in an IC memory in advance, and sending out the guidance as a voice instead of a dial tone.

CONSTITUTION: When a calling party sets a telephone receiver 6 to off-hook, a control part 1 receives an off-hook signal from an off-hook detecting circuit 4. Subsequently, the control part 1 fetches guidance data stored in an IC memory 7, converts it to a voice through a voice synthesizing circuit 8, and sends it out to the telephone receiver 6 through a speech network ringer circuit 5. In such a way, since the guidance in the IC memory is transmitted instead of a dial tone, the next operation can be executed smoothly, and the operability can be improved.
