To provide an isocyanate composition that is useful as a wall material for microcapsule wherein the microcapsule made of the wall material shows excellent properties, for example, high thermal sensitivity, high color consistency and retain good raw storability for a long period of time and the microcapsule, further provide a heat-sensitive recording material that is prepared by using the microcapsule and shows high sensitivity, color reproducibility and raw storability and further provide a method for producing the useful microcapsule.
The isocyanate composition comprises a reaction mixture between (A) a compound bearing a mesogene group and an active hydrogen in the same molecule and (B) a polyfunctional isocyanate bearing two or more isocyanate groups, and the microcapsules are produced by using the isocyanate composition.
