NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (n is 1W6; R is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkadienyl, aryl, amino or heterocyclic; X is O or S).

EXAMPLE: N-(3,7,11,15-Tetramethyl-2,6,10,14-hexadecatetraenyl)formamide.

USE: An antiulcer considering both attack factor inhibitory action (e.g., hydrochloric acid secretion inhibitory action) and protection factor enhancing action (e.g., mucous secretion promoting action), alleviating side effects, having durability and suppressing recurrence of ulcer after stopping of administration.

PREPARATION: Prenylamine compound shown by the formula II is subjected to a common amide condensation forming reaction to give a compound shown by the formula I.
