Abstract:
To efficiently and quickly separate an astatine isotope.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, an isotope production method includes an irradiation step S30 of irradiating an irradiation sample including bismuth being an irradiation target, with helium accelerated by an accelerator, and a recovery step S40 of recovering the astatine isotope produced in the irradiation step S30. The recovery step S40 includes a step of adsorbing a gaseous astatine isotope into an aerosol and transferring the isotope by gas to a collection vessel via a collection tube, a step of recovering the astatine isotope by dissolving each of the aerosol that has adsorbed the astatine isotope and the astatine isotope in the solution in the collection vessel, and a step of releasing the gas that has entered the collection vessel, to the atmosphere via an exhaust filter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
