Abstract:
To provide a sinker in which a plating yarn and a ground yarn are difficult to be reversed and a knitting mechanism using the sinker.SOLUTION: In a knitting mechanism for allowing a circular knitting machine to perform plating knitting, a sinker has a first transition surface and a second transition surface on a sinker top. A first trajectory or a second trajectory is selected as an operation trajectory of the sinker. The first trajectory causes the first transition surface to come closest to a knitting needle during downward movement of the knitting needle and causes the knitting needle to move downward to the lowest point of the operation trajectory of the knitting needle. The second trajectory causes the second transition surface to come closest to the knitting needle during the downward movement of the knitting needle and causes the knitting needle to move downward to the lowest point of the operation trajectory of the knitting needle. Consequently, knitting by replacing positions of a first yarn and a second yarn can be executed during plating knitting by the circular knitting machine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
