To provide a Japanese roof tile which not only maintains a normal roofing condition over a long period of time but also ensures a traditional appearance of Japanese roof tiles and convenience of transportation etc., and contributes to safe and easy roofing work.
The Japanese roof tile is formed such that a convex section 1 and a concave section 2 adjacent to each other in a tile lengthwise direction are laterally connected together to form a dog leg shape in cross section. According to the structure of the Japanese roof tile, the convex section 1 has a projection 3 formed on a ridge-side front surface thereof so that an eaves-side end face of the adjacent tile on a ridge side engages with the projection at the time of roofing, and the convex section 1 has a dip 4 formed in a ridge-side rear surface thereof so that the projection 3 is fitted in the dip when the tiles are superposed on each other.
