PURPOSE: To easily correct the deviation of a hole position and to obtain a strength larger than in the single joining with a rivet by forming a projection round a hole of one metallic member, inserting it into a hole provided on the other metallic member, enlarging the hole, inserting a rivet shaped binding member, press-fixing the member to the hole and joining both members.
CONSTITUTION: The hole 5 smaller than the outerdiameter of the head of the rivet 3 is provided on the other metallic member 1. The hole 6 penetrated by the rivet 3 is provided on the metallic member 2 on one side, the periphery is extruded by a press, etc., to form a tubular projection 4, it is enlarged from the inside, inscribed in the hole 5 of the metallic member 1 and joined. When both members are put one over the other, though the center of the hole is deviated, the projection is enlarged to the side on which a clearance generated by the deviation is large when the projection of the member on one side is enlarged and inscribed in the hole of the other metallic member 1 and joined and therefore the deviation can be corrected easily. The rivet 3 is inserted into the hole of the metallic member 2 of one side, press-fixed and both metallic members 1, 2 are joined. Since the sectional area of the joined member is equal to the area obtained by adding the sectional area of the projection 4 to the rivet shaped joined member 3, a shearing strength larger than in the single rivet shaped binding member can be obtained.
