Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform joining the Ni-Ti-base alloy having a shape memory effect and a super-elastic effect to other different kind of metal to have sufficient strength and reliability.

CONSTITUTION: In joining a Ni-Ti-base alloy member 1 to a different kind of metallic member 2, heat radiation parts 3 having good heat conductivity are fitted on both members in the vicinity of the joining surfaces, a Ni or Ni- base alloy intermediate member is interposed between the joining surfaces of both members and resepctive contact parts between the Ni-Ti-base alloy member 1 and the intermediate member and between the different kind of metallic member 2 and the intermediate member are heated rapidly up to the temperature in which these contact parts are welded. At the same time, the respective contact parts are compressed in the direction where both members of the contact parts are opposed to each other and melts pushed out to the outside of the respective contact parts are brought into contact with the heat radiation parts and solidified rapidly.
