Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining method by which metal shortage of a junction can be prevented.SOLUTION: A joining method for joining a first metallic component 1 and a second metallic component 2 to each other by use of a rotary tool F for joining which comprises an agitation pin F2 includes: an abutting process in which the first metallic component 1 and the second metallic component 2 are abutted on each other thereby forming an abutted part J1; an arrangement process in which an auxiliary component 10 is so arranged as to be brought into surface contact with the first metallic component 1 or the second metallic component 2; and a friction agitating process in which the rotary tool F for joining is relatively moved along the abutted part J1 in the state that only the agitation pin F2 is brought in contact with the first metallic component 1, the second metallic component 2 and the auxiliary component 10 thereby joining the first metallic component 1, the second metallic component 2 and the auxiliary component 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
