Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate washing and to adjust discharge pressure for increased squeezing rate by surrounding with a filter the end portion of each squeezing roller comprising a helical gear and a screw located at the end of the gear, setting a scum discharge pressure adjusting device, and fitting a discharge end plate at the end of a housing. CONSTITUTION: A pair of meshing squeezing roller 20, 22 each comprising a helical gear 16 and a screw 18 at the end of the gear are arranged inside a housing 14, and a filter 32 is fitted on the peripheral surface of the end portion of the housing 14. The filter 32 comprises a number of filter elements 46 stacked one on another, each filter element 46 taking the form of '8' around the squeezing rollers 20, 22 and curved at its center portion. Therefore, grooves in the filters serve as filter holes, and in washing each filter element 46 is expanded because of its own elasticity to facilitate water washing. Remaining scum is discharged from a discharge hole 50 in a discharge end plate 30 provided with a scum discharge pressure adjusting device 28. The discharge pressure is adjusted by a plug 60.
