Title:
JUMPING SKI
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2619799
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remarkably increase a flying distance by forming the cross section perpendicular to a longitudinal direction to a streamline shape and providing the front end with a fairing consisting of a light material.
CONSTITUTION: The cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the jumping ski 2 is formed to the streamline shape and the front end is provided with the fairing consisting of the light material. The flying distance is increased by opening the right and left skis to a V shape. The flow of the air is as shown by an arrow F2 in such a case. Since the air crosses the ski 2, the lift of the ski 2 is exhibited as the effect of the vane shape and eventually, the increase in the flying distance is resulted. Further, the lift is increased and the resistance is decreased by providing the front end with the fairing consisting of the lightweight material, for example, light materials, such as foamed resins and balsa materials.
