PURPOSE: To create a document speedily and to prevent an error and a miss of conversion by providing the 1st and the 2nd KANA (Japanese syllabary)- KANJI (Chinese character) converting means, and outputting the conversion result from the former preferentially to that from the latter.
CONSTITUTION: The 1st KANA-KANJI conversion part 1 inputs an input KANA character string supplied from a keyboard, etc., to an input buffer 2 and converts this into KANA as one clause. The 2nd KANA-KANJI conversion part 3 regards the input KANA character string as plural clauses and performs KANA- KANJI conversion by decomposing it. Those two converting operations are carried out in parallel. The conversion results of them are selected by an output control part 4 to output the conversion result of the conversion part 1 preferentially when the 1st conversion is successful or the result of the conversion part 3 when not. Thus, a document is created speedily and errors of conversion are prevented.
