PURPOSE: To attain an associative input of a KANJI (Chinese character) data even in an undefined field by setting a KANJI associative data waiting state when a KANJI input function key is operated and connecting two key data supplied subsequently to form the KANJI data.

CONSTITUTION: When a cursor exists in a KANJI field, a CPU10 gives a control instruction of KANJI field to a keyboard controller KBC40 and a CRT controller CRTC90 respectively. In this case, the KBC40 is put under a waiting state for KANJI associative input code and connects two key codes supplied subsequently from a keyboard 30 to form a KANJI associative input code. Thus the corresponding KANJI code is obtained and stored in a record buffer 50. The CRTC90 deliver the KANJI code stored in the buffer 50 to a CRT monitor 80 in the form of a KANJI data by a control instruction of KANJI field given from the CPU10.
