PURPOSE: To select a picture suitable for music and to reproduce it by constituting a device so that it can be discriminated by a code for each genre.

CONSTITUTION: When a recording button of an operation device 1 is pressed, a system control device 2 issues an indication to a CD reproducing device 5 so that genre codes of each sound recorded in a sub-code of a CD 4 are reproduced. The genre codes of sound from the CD reproducing device 5 are recorded in a non-volatile memory device 3. Next, the system control device 2 closes a switch 7 to a prescribed side, and issues an indication to a CD-ROM reproducing device 9 so that genre code of each pictures recorded in a CD-ROM 8 are reproduced. Genre codes of pictures from the CD-ROM reproducing device 9 are recorded in the non-volatile memory device 3. And when a music number of the CD 4 is selected for a musical performance of KARAOKE (orchestration without lyrics), the system control device retrieves the music number in the non-volatile memory device 3, a picture number corresponding to a genre code of the music number is found out.
