PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for supplying solid ink to a printhead.SOLUTION: A reservoir in a printer includes: a body 110A that includes a first inlet 130 and a first outlet 140, the body defining an internal volume positioned between the first inlet and the first outlet; a valve 150 positioned within the body and configured such that ink flows from the first inlet through the valve into the internal volume when the valve is in an open position and such that the ink is prevented from flowing through the valve into the internal volume when the valve is in a closed position, where the ink is configured to flow from the internal volume through the first outlet into a printhead 200A-200D; and a first heater 160 positioned within the body and configured to heat the ink.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
