PURPOSE: To improve the expansion of a key telephone system as a whole, by setting and registering the connection of an audio device by individually designating connecting means and stopping the control signal transmission between a connected connecting means with a signal line.
CONSTITUTION: Information requesting the connection between a connector CNm and audio device (AUD) 5 is previously stored in a RAM 16 by setting and registering in connection with the connector CNm connected with the AUD 5 and, in response to this, a CPU 14 specially handles the connector CNm and stops the communication of control data and operation data between the connector CNm and a signal line. Moreover, in response to a call calling an extension from another key telephone set (ST) 4 to the AUD 5, the channel of the connector CNm only is connected with an extension circuit contained in a channel switch (TSW) 12 by controlling the TSW 12 and the tone signal of a tone signal generator (TSG) 17 is sent and, as a result a channel is formed with the calling ST 4. Therefore, an audio device can be connected instead of a key telephone set and the whole expansion of this key telephone system is improved.
