Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new microorganism producing an antibiotic useful in applications for the health of animals, such as the application of growth promoters and the treatments of bovine mastitis.
CONSTITUTION: A culture product of biologically pure Kibdelosporangium aridum Shearer, gen. nov., sp. nov. ATCC 39323 or its active variant or derivative, capable of producing a recoverable amount of an antibiotic AAD216 complex comprising AAD216A, AAD216B or AAD216C, or their mixture, when cultured in a liquid nutritive culture medium containing an assimilatory nitrogen source and an assimilatory carbon source.
