Abstract:
To provide a klystron improving an output conversion efficiency.SOLUTION: A klystron 10 comprises: a klystron main body 11; and a focus magnetic field device 12. The klystron main body 11 comprises: an electron gun 15 generating an electron beam; a plurality of resonant cavities 20 containing an input cavity 22 positioned in order along a progressing direction of the electron beam from the electron gun 15, a plurality of intermediate cavities 23a to 23d, and an output cavity 24; a collector 17 capturing the electron beam passing through in the resonant cavity 20; drift tubes 21a to 21g provided to between the adjacent resonant cavities 20, the electron gun 15 and the input cavity 22, and the output cavity 24 and the collector 17. The focus magnetic field device 12 focuses the electron beam. A diameter near to at least the output cavity 24 of the drift pipe 21f between the intermediate cavity 23d in the lowest downstream nearest to the output cavity 24 of the intermediate cavities 23a to 23d and the output cavity 24 is smaller than that of the drift tubes 21a to 21e from the input cavity 22 to the intermediate cavity 23d in the lowest downstream.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
